The Severn Lady

Key Features –

The Severn Lady is a split hopper barge registered at Gloucester and built in 1979. Classified under MCA Cat 5 (3Nm), she is designed to operate effectively in harbours, rivers, and estuary environments. With a dry weight of 31.07 tonnes, she remains fully road transportable, allowing for flexible mobilisation to suit a wide range of project locations.

Measuring 23.6 metres in length with a breadth of 4.84 metres and a mean draught of 0.875 metres, the vessel provides a hopper capacity of 60 tonnes. Her size and carrying ability make her a versatile asset for both dredging operations and material transport.

The Severn Lady is fitted with spud legs for secure positioning and can be equipped with a removable eight-tonne, 360° long-reach excavator to provide additional flexibility on marine civil engineering projects. She also carries a specialist water-injection unit and is capable of plough dredging, making her well suited to maintenance and de-silting works.

Designed for multi-purpose operations, the vessel supports water-injection plough dredging, the construction and maintenance of jetties, pontoons and quays, and the efficient transport of materials through her hopper system. With the option of excavator fit-out, she can also be deployed for marine civil engineering support and is regularly utilised for general harbour, river, and estuary works.

EVA

Key Features –

EVA is a Damen Pushy Cat 1204, built in 2008 and registered at Gloucester.  Classified as Cat 3, she has a dry weight of 14.59 tonnes and benefits from a shallow draught, making her road transportable and highly flexible for mobilisation. Her hydraulic steering system provides excellent manoeuvrability, while a sealed weather deck, single push bow, quick-release side fenders, and two hydraulic hitching winches make her a robust and adaptable working vessel. Additional features include a keel-cooled system, a 2,500-litre fuel tank, and three lifting points for road or yard handling.

Measuring 12 metres in length with a breadth of 3.8 metres, she draws 1.2 metres midships and 1.5 metres at the stern. Her propulsion system comprises a Caterpillar engine, Twin Disk gearbox, and Kort nozzle arrangement driving a 680 mm propeller, producing a total power output of 240 hp.

EVA is fully equipped with modern navigation and electronic systems, including radar, chart plotter, AIS, autopilot, and two VHF radios, ensuring safe and efficient operation. She is capable of a bollard pull of 2.5 tonnes and achieves a maximum speed of 8 knots, making her well suited to demanding operational requirements.

Designed for versatility, the EVA supports tug and tow operations, barge positioning, and general harbour or marina works. She also provides reliable project support across inland and nearshore environments, where her manoeuvrability and robust design make her an invaluable asset.
